International students must prove they have sufficient funds available to pay for their educational and personal expenses. In response to the circumstances of COVID-19 and to provide financial relief to our students, the University of Minnesota will implement a tuition freeze for the 2020-2021 academic year. Undergraduate students, both current and incoming, will not see an increase in U of M tuition this coming academic year. For international students, this means tuition will remain at $31,616. Housing costs, meal plan and fees will be finalized in July.

Tuition and fees are subject to change and actual expenses will vary for individual students. The University of Minnesota is not responsible for any difference between these estimated costs and your actual costs. Cost increases should be expected for each subsequent academic year.

* The tuition and fee figure above includes $922 international student fees and $1,794 student services fees. Tuition and fees are subject to change and actual expenses will vary for individual students. The University of Minnesota is not responsible for any difference between these estimated costs and your actual costs. Cost increases should be expected for each subsequent academic year.

Estimated costs, except for tuition, are 2019 actual costs plus a 5% increase. Tuition and fees for the 2020-2021 academic year will be finalized in July 2020. Students enrolled in the Carlson School of Management (CSOM) and College of Science and Engineering (CSE) students will be charged an additional $1,000 per semester tuition surcharge to maintain innovative classrooms and laboratories.
